In a statement, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), DPAP today said that DDC chairman Anantnag and senior NC leader Mohammad Yousuf Gorsi today joined the party in presence of its chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad and various other senior leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Gorsi said that the prevailing political situation of Jammu Kashmir needs a dynamic and visionary leader to take it out of morass. He, however, said that he has seen the same hope in Ghulam Nabi Azad who is fearless and pro people. “I joined DPAP only because I believe Ghulam Nabi Azad can take Jammu Kashmir out of the present situation. He is fearless and transparent leader who carries vision and mission for his people,” he said.

Gorsi said that when all political parties were silent over the forcible eviction of people from the land, it was DPAP led by Azad Sahab who took to the streets and forced government to stop eviction drive. Speaking on the occasion, the party chairman said that he is hopeful to see Gorsi’s presence will help party to grow further and reach every person of the UT with party’s pro people agenda. Among others who were present on the occasion were G.M.Saroori Vice Chairman, Haji Abdul Rashid Gen Secretary, Peer Shahbaz DDC, Mir Altaf and others.

Gorsi was close aide of former NC MLA Altaf Ahmad Kaloo.

“DPAP cannot win a single seat in Kashmir but they want to divide NC vote and benefit our opponents,” a NC leader from south Kashmir told KNO—(KNO)
