KUPWARA, MAY 31: Mohammad Yousuf Mir, District Information Officer (DIO), Kupwara, who attained retirement today after serving the department for more than 40 years was today accorded a warm farewell at District Information & Public Relations Office, Kupwara in an impressive and well attended function.

The function was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray; besides Assistant Director Information, Kashmir, Mohammad Aslam Khan; Senior functionaries of the department, Officials of District Information Centre Kupwara and Tehsil Information Centres of Karnah and Handwara participated in farewell function.
The DC commended the role of the outgoing DIO and said that the officer showed exemplary performance and worked professionally in the district.
Wishing him a prosperous post retirement life, DC said “I have found outgoing officer cool, calm, soft spoken but very professional and dedicated”.
DC said that outgoing DIO has dedicated the prime period of his life for the Government and department in service delevery”.
The Assistant Director Information, Mohamad Aslam Khan in his speech said that other staff of information department should replicate the professionalism and dedication of outgoing District Information officer.
Khan shared his valuable experience with retiring DIO at the directorate.
He said that the retiring Officer has worked on different positions including Field Publicity Officer Kashmir, DIO Bandipora, DIO Ganderbal, Store & Maintenance Officer, DIPR, J&K and earned laurels for himself and the department.
The Assistant Director Information further said that Mohammad Yousuf Mir was a senior most Officer of the department who worked tirelessly for the betterment of the department. His services will be remembered for long.
Mohammad Yousuf Mir outgoing DIO, thanked all the participants, including Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Assistant Director Information and other officers and officials for their support in delivering the better service on ground.
Thanking all his colleagues and friends for their support and love throughout his career, Mohamad Yousaf Mir said “I feel honoured and happy to have been part of District adminstration Kupwara. I am grateful to everyone I have worked with and am proud to have made so many wonderful friends for the rest of my life. The memories of shared times would always remain with me as the best token of association with this great institution”.
Services of the Muhammad Yousaf Mir which he rendered to the Department were highly appreciated on the occasion and he was given an emotional send-off.
