ANANTNAG, JUNE 10: Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana today conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing developmental works in District Anantnag.

The meeting was held at Pahalgam Club, where MP Khatana assessed the progress and achievements made in various sectors across the district.

During the meeting, the District Officer presented a detailed overview of the developmental scenario and highlighted the significant accomplishments in their respective fields. MP Khatana emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the residents and ensuring holistic development in all aspects of their lives.

MP said that Pahalgam holds immense global tourism appeal and serves as a religious base camp for pilgrims. He underscored the importance of maintaining cleanliness and preserving its pristine beauty.

He urged all stakeholders to actively work towards keeping the region neat, plastic-free, and welcoming to visitors.

During the meeting, he stressed the significance of a friendly and compassionate approach by government officials towards citizens, encouraging them to promptly address issues and genuine demands. Specifically, he directed the tourism officers to uphold professional ethics and promote hospitality among service providers, aiming to enhance the region’s reputation for warmth and hospitality to tourists and pilgrims, thereby elevating India’s image on the global stage.

He also directed the concerned about various key issues, including power supply, water management, food security, tribal development, traffic management, security measures for pilgrims, sanitation, educational advancements, tourism promotion, and healthcare facilities.

The MP said that Pahalgam has a potential as a world-class tourist destination, he urged officials to implement government initiatives and work towards establishing it as a must-visit location.

Encouraging all attendees to be responsible citizens, MP Khatana called for dedicated contributions towards the development of the Union Territory and the nation as a whole.

The District Administration Anantnag assured the MP that all the directives issued during the meeting would be executed diligently, fostering progress and growth in Anantnag District.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, JD, Planing SE (Hydraulic), Engineers from (KPDCL), CMO, ACD, EO’s of Municipal Committees, and various other district officers.
