Kulgam,October 12: District Police Kulgam is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars.
In this regard, a specific information regarding presence of contraband substance was generated by Kulgam police from credible sources. Acting promptly a special team led by SHO police station Yaripora Si Sandeep Sharma under the close supervision of *SSP Kulgam* was constituted, who raided the suspected place (residential house) in presence of executive magistrate Yaripora of Mohd Yousuf Rather S/O Ali Mohammad Rather R/O Kanjikullah, Yaripora and from where officers were able to recover 52 Kgs of *Poppy Straw* like contraband substance. The said person was arrested.
Regarding the incident a case with FIR No 80/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at police station Yaripora and investigation is in progress.
People are requested to come forward and inform nearby Police unit or Dial 112 with any information regarding any social activity their neighborhood so that timely action against the culprits will be taken.
