Kulgam, June 08: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Manzgam under the supervision of SHO PS Manzgam intercepted a vehicle (Scooty) bearing registration number JK03G-3801 at a checkpoint established at main road Korel near Mirwani crossing. After thorough search 500 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from the drug peddler identified as Mohd Yaqoob Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Kher Kadal Takibal Bijebhara. The drug peddler has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
In this regard, a case FIR number 32/24 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Manzgam and investigation has been set into motion.
