Kulgam : 12 June : Following the directives of Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, a team headed by Tehsildar Kulgam Bilal Ahmad (JKAS) along with Food safty Officer Inderjeet Singh,SHO Kulgam Lateef Ahmad,Municipal Council Kulgam,Legal Metrology, Officials and Food Department besides Police officials conducted market checking in main town market Kulgam and its adjacent areas.
The checking was aimed at to ensure availability of quality products and to curb black marketing, profiteering of essential commodities.
During the market checking the Restaurants , Shops were inspected and the unhygienic, rotten vegetables, fruits, expired items were destroyed on the spot.
Officials sealed three restaurants and collected fines from violators.
Meanwhile Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kulgam instructed various departments to conduct market checking frequently in Coming Eid-ul-Azha for public benefit. He said already a meeting was chaired in this regard for discussions regarding market checkings were deliberated upon.
General public has applauded this timely inspection of markets by police & civil administration.
