Kulgam, July 24: To curb the menace of illegal mining and to foil the degradation of the river Veshaw and other Nallahs of the district, Kulgam Police along with officers of geology and mining department, arrested 6 persons and seized 6 vehicles (Tractors) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Devsar and Behibagh.
Accordingly, cases vide FIR No 64/2024 at police station Devsar and FIR No 27/2024 at Police station Behibagh under relevant sections of law have been registered and investigations have been initiated.
Police warns stringent action against those people whosoever found guilty in the said crime. Community members are requested to inform nearby police unit or Dial 112 regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighbourhood so that timely action against the culprits will be taken.
