Srinagar, Jul 25: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha Thursday said many higher educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir have done wonders in the field of science, technology and humanities.

Addressing the students and faculty of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora during the 3rd convocation Sinha said, “I feel happy to know that majority of the gold medals are from the female students.”

The LG as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the support of teachers at IUST have proved that they are really making the students diamond by nurturing their skills and talent.

“In past couple of years, almost every higher educational institution in Jammu and Kashmir are doing wonders,” Sinha said.

The LG further said that IUST has focused a lot on educating the students and is working on relevant and innovative education.

He said that the transformation at IUST is being talked about everywhere. “Besides, science and technology, Jammu and Kashmir is growing in humanities education also and in future IUST is going to achieve the milestone, there is no doubt about that.”

Science and technology always require new ideas and innovations and IUST is already in the process of producing such innovations,” Sinha said.

Sinha further said, “I believe that in the coming five years, the development process in Jammu and Kashmir will further accelerate and I think every student will have to be an agent of sustainable development to accept and tackle the new challenges.”

He added that the teachers in Jammu and Kashmir have a role to give clear guidance to the students in accordance with their capabilities.

“I believe in this regard, IUST have achieved milestones by nurturing the innovative ideas of students scientifically,” he said—(KNO)
