KULGAM, JULY 26: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today reviewed the functioning of the Employment and Labour Department during a meeting of officers held at the mini-secretariat Kulgam.
AD Employment through a PowerPoint Presentation briefed the chair that 20995 youth from Kulgam including 8113 Post Graduates, 5389 Graduates and 6540 under graduate unemployed youth have been registered on J&K Employment Portal through a cost free, convenient and user friendly process.
Regarding Mission Youth schemes, it was informed that a total of 122 applications have been received, out of which 63 have been approved by the DLIC during the current financial year under Mumkin, Tejaswini & SEI schemes, while 59 applications are ready for conduct of the DLIC meeting.
To link/enroll all the eligible unemployed youth under the Mission Youth schemes, the chair directed AD Employment to work in close coordination with NRLM, RDD & other line departments and conduct mass outreach activities so that the targets are achieved well in time.
While reviewing the performance under Counselling, awareness and Job fairs, DC instructed the concerned to conduct a Mega Job fair at District Level aiming to connect job seekers with potential employers.
Further it was directed by the chair to ensure last mile employability of all the candidates trained through demand driven skill development.
The DC directed the officers to work diligently to achieve the desired outcomes from the schemes.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Bashir Ahmad Wani; Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Viqar Ahmed Giri; ACD Kulgam, Syed Naseer; Assistant Director Employment Kulgam, Career Counselling Officer DE&CC Kulgam, Employment Officer DE&CC Kulgam, Lead Bank Manager Kulgam and other officials.
