Kulgam, August 11: To pay rich tributes to the martyrs of J&K Police, District Police Kulgam initiated a plantation drive under the banner “Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam”. The drive was inaugurated by DM Kulgam Shri Athar Aamir Khan-IAS along with SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS who planted saplings of different trees within the premises of DPL Kulgam in the everlasting memory of the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of the duty.

DySP DAR Kulgam, families of martyrs and other officers/officials of Kulgam police were present to honour the occasion.

The drive, themed “Ek Ped Shaheedon ke Naam” is being carried out across the district to honour the police martyrs who have laid down their lives in the line of duty to protect the unity and integrity of the country. Officers from various ranks of the Kulgam police are actively participating in these events, upholding the commitment of District Police Kulgam to both environmental sustainability and the remembrance of our fallen heroes.

On the occasion, an interactive meeting was held with the families of martyrs reinforcing the commitment to commemorating the heroes by DM Kulgam and SSP Kulgam. During the meeting, families of martyrs raised various issues, which were listened patiently by the chairing Officers. Multiple issues were solved on spot, However, Officers assured the participants that their geniune grievances will be resolved with utmost priority. As a goodwill gesture, gifts/sweets were distributed among the families of martyrs.
