Kulgam, August 12: Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of police station Kulgam established a checkpoint at Tehsil crossing near employment exchange office kulgam, during checking a suspicious person carrying a nylon bag was intercepted. After search, officers were able to recover 800 grams of Charas like contraband substance from his possession. The said person identified as Nisar Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Salam Mir resident of Mohanpora, Kulgam was arrested and shifted to police station where he remain in custody.
Subsequently, a case vide FIR number 122/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated.
General public is requested to come forward or Dial 112 with any information regarding drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society.
