Kulgam, August 13:In a proactive measure to ensure safety and security ahead of the 15th August Independence Day celebrations, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) has intensified security checks at the main market in Kulgam. This initiative comes under the direct instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam, aimed at preventing any untoward incidents during the national festivities.
Lateef Ahmad SHO Kulgam, along with a team of vigilant officers, was present on the ground to oversee the frisking operations. The security personnel were seen conducting thorough checks on individuals and vehicles entering the market area, ensuring that every precaution is taken to maintain peace and order.
Local residents and shopkeepers have expressed their support for the heightened security measures, acknowledging the importance of vigilance during such significant national events. “It’s reassuring to see the police taking these steps. It makes us feel safer and more confident as we prepare to celebrate Independence Day,” said a local shop owner.
The JKP remains committed to maintaining the safety and security of all citizens during the Independence Day celebrations.
