Srinagar, Sep 06: In a remarkable achievement, Dr. Saima Jeelani, Assistant Professor at the Government Nursing College, has been conferred with the prestigious “Best Nursing Teacher Award 2024” by the Nursing Teachers Association of India.

This esteemed recognition celebrates Dr. Jeelani’s outstanding achievements in the field of nursing education and was chosen from thousands of nominations submitted across various categories.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the award has brought laurels to the Govt. Nursing College, GMC Anantnag, showcasing its excellence in nurturing talent and education.

The Nursing Teachers Association of India, which annually celebrates distinguished nursing educators on Teachers’ Day, September 5, made the announcement as part of their National Nursing Teachers Ratna Award and Best Nursing Teacher Award 2024.

The association honours senior nursing educators from across the country for their dedication and exemplary work.

The selection process, based on online applications, is meticulously scrutinized by a dedicated committee that evaluates candidates on key criteria, including experience, leadership, and contributions to the profession.

Principal, GMC Anantnag, Prof. (Dr.) Rukhsana Najeeb, said that “On behalf of GMC Anantnag, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Saima Jeelani for this well-deserved recognition. Her dedication and contributions to nursing education are a testament to her commitment to excellence. This award not only recognizes her individual efforts but also brings great honor to our institution. We are incredibly proud of her achievement, and I wish her continued success in all her future endeavors.”

Talking to KNO, Dr Saima Jeelani said that she is happy for receiving this prestigious award.

“I am very happy for this prestigious award. I am thankful first to almighty Allah then all the teachers and my parents who make me what I am today. I am also thankful to Principal GMC Anantnag Prof Dr Ruksana Najeeb for her undue support. Her leadership inspires me every day,” Dr Jeelani said.

In her message, Dr Saima said that success follows the deepest desires, not the whims. “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts. I find that the harder I work the more luck I seem to have.”

“I worked so hard and now my dream has come true,” she added further.

Officials at GMC Anantnag said that this accolade reflects her tireless efforts and dedication to the field of nursing education. “It is an honor for GMC Anantnag to have such talented professionals, and we celebrate this momentous achievement with immense pride.”—(KNO)
