Kulgam, Sep, 30: The Kulgam Municipal Council has launched a cleanliness drive outside the District Hospital, aiming to tackle longstanding issues with the area’s blocked drainage system. This initiative follows persistent requests from local residents for improved sanitation and waste management.
During the drive, officials emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and urged shopkeepers and residents to avoid disposing of waste in the drainage system. “Proper waste disposal is crucial for ensuring a clean environment and preventing blockages,” stated Idrees Ahmad, Nodal Officer of MC Kulgam.
The initiative seeks not only to restore the drainage system’s functionality but also to raise awareness about hygiene and community responsibility. The Municipal Council is calling on all stakeholders to cooperate in keeping the area clean and waste-free.
Local residents have expressed their gratitude for the initiative, thanking the district administration for addressing this long-standing issue.
