Srinagar, Oct 3;  Janata Dal United (JD(U)) President for Jammu and Kashmir, GM Shaheen, addressed a press conference here today, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the voters who supported the party in the recent elections.

Shaheen acknowledged the trust reposed in JD(U) and reassured that his party remains committed to fulfilling its electoral promises, as outlined in its manifesto.

“We will work tirelessly to address the concerns and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he asserted.

However, Shaheen expressed concern over incidents of violence and intimidation against political activists. “Some frustrated elements have resorted to assaults on our workers, which is unacceptable,” he said, appealing for peaceful democratic conduct.

On a positive note, Shaheen praised the officials for their cooperation and support during the election process. “We appreciate the efficient and impartial conduct of the elections,” he said.

Shaheen revealed the appointment of Harpreet Singh from Jammu as the new General Secretary of JD(U) J&K unit. “Harpreet’s experience and dedication will strengthen our party’s presence in the region,” he said.
