Srinagar, 5th Oct 2024 – Molvi Imran Reza Ansari, President of All JK Shia Association, has strongly condemned the recent public speech made by Hindu priest Yati Narsinghanand, where he appealed to Hindus to burn the effigy of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). This hate speech is unacceptable and blasphemous, causing outrage and hurt among Muslims worldwide.

In a letter addressed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Molvi Ansari expressed deep concern and outrage over the increasing incidents of hate speech and violence against Muslims in India. He emphasized that such incendiary language has no place in a democratic country like India, which prides itself on diversity and tolerance.

As a Muslim, Molvi Ansari stated that blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) is deeply hurtful and offensive, creating an atmosphere of fear, intimidation, and marginalization for the Muslim community. Being a minority in India, Muslims are repeatedly insulted and offended by such hate speeches, which undermine their safety, dignity, and protection.

Molvi Ansari drew attention to Anil Yadav, an aide of Narsinghanand, openly threatening to burn effigies of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) and Imam Ali (AS), depicted as demons, and inciting riots in India. This incitement to violence and hatred can lead to catastrophic consequences and must be addressed immediately.

The All JK Shia Association urged the Union Home Minister to take immediate action against Yati Narsinghanand and Anil Yadav for promoting hate speech and violence. The Association demanded that the government ensure the safety and protection of Muslim citizens, strengthen enforcement of laws prohibiting hate speech, and promote interfaith dialogue and education to foster mutual understanding and respect.

Molvi Ansari emphasized that Muslims are proud Indians contributing to the country’s growth and development. However, repeated insults and offenses against their Prophet and faith create an environment of mistrust and insecurity.

“We request the Union Home Minister to address this issue promptly and ensure that our community feels safe, respected, and valued,” Molvi Ansari stated.

The All JK Shia Association stands united against hate speech and violence, advocating for peace, harmony, and unity among all communities.
