Kulgam, October 21; A candlelight march took place in Kulgam on Monday to condemn the recent militant attack that resulted in the deaths of seven workers, including a doctor, involved in the Z-Morh Tunnel project. The attack occurred at a construction site along the Srinagar-Leh national highway in Ganderbal district.
Participants gathered in solidarity, holding candles and banners to honor the victims and to voice their opposition to the violence impacting those engaged in essential infrastructure development, which is crucial for improving connectivity between Kashmir and Ladakh.
The protest saw significant participation from local groups, including the Traders Association and the Bar Association, who emphasized the need for peace and security for all workers contributing to regional development. The event served as a poignant reminder of the dangers faced by those working in the area and the broader call for unity against violence.
