Srinagar DDC Vice Chairman Among 8 Arrested in Gambling Case, Shifted to Central Jail

Srinagar: Srinagar Police have arrested eight individuals, including the District Development Council (DDC) Vice Chairman of Srinagar, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, on charges of illegal gambling.

As per a report, the arrests took place under FIR No. 106, registered at Ram Munshi Bagh police station, with authorities invoking Section 13 of the Jammu and Kashmir Gambling Act.

According to the challan produced by Ram Munshi Bagh Police Station, Bhat, along with seven others were apprehended during a raid in Srinagar after credible information led law enforcement to the gambling site. The raid resulted in the seizure of cash and other incriminating materials.

According to court sources, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Srinagar, after reviewing the instant challan, has sent all the accused persons to Central Jail Srinagar until the next hearing. They added that the next hearing of this case is set for November 7. (KDC)
