Srinagar, November 7 – In a major political move, senior leader and former PDP member Javaid Iqbal from Pattan Palhalan, along with his supporters, officially joined the Janata Dal United (JDU) at the party’s office in Rajbagh, Srinagar on Thursday. The induction was overseen by JDU’s Jammu and Kashmir President, GM Shaheen, who welcomed the new members into the party.
Expressing his pleasure, President GM Shaheen stated, “Today, a senior political leader from PDP Pattan and Palhalan, along with his supporters, joined our ranks. This addition significantly strengthens our party’s position in the Pattan and Baramulla regions.”
Javaid Iqbal, the newly inducted leader, conveyed his gratitude to GM Shaheen, as well as to General Secretary Dr. Ayoub and Political Adviser Riyaz Sahab. “I am extremely happy to have joined JDU in the presence of GM Shaheen Sahib. Although I was previously associated with the PDP, I have now formally joined JDU with all my supporters. I am committed to working tirelessly, day and night, to strengthen the party as we approach the upcoming elections. I am confident that JDU will secure the support of voters in Pattan and Palhalan,” he stated.
This strategic move is seen as a boost for JDU ahead of the forthcoming elections, signaling increased competition in the region’s political landscape.
