Srinagar, Nov 22: Authorities sealed eight clinical laboratories in Srinagar on Friday. The action was taken by a team of officials from the District Registering Authority, District Health Officer, and the Drug Department, who conducted a routine inspection of clinical establishments in the Bemina area of Srinagar.
During the inspection, the team found that several establishments were operating in deviation of criteria under the CERR Act and without proper registrations. These included Crestcare Laboratory opposite SKIMS JVC Bemina, Jhelum Valley Chemists and Druggists with an in-house SRL Laboratory functioning, and Kids Health Clinic, a consultation chamber in JVC Bemina, City Clinical Laboratory in Shah colony opposite JVC Hospital, Peace Diagnostic Center in JVC Bemina, TCT Clinical Laboratory in JVC Bemina, Sajad Medicate Chemists and Druggists with an in-house unregistered consultation chamber in JVC Bemina, and Atulaya Healthcare Imaging and Laboratories in JVC Bemina. All these labs were sealed.
The inspection team also checked some medical shops for illegal collection of samples. [KNT].
