The issue came to light after the Executive Engineer Handwara office sent a formal letter to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, urging immediate action against the construction company for violating protocols.

The matter has raised serious concerns among local residents, as the discarded pipelines were crucial for the water supply system in these areas.

In response, MLA Langate, Shiekh Khurshid, visited the affected locations and urged both the Tehsildar and Station House Officer (SHO) to take swift action against the responsible parties. He also demanded that the road construction company provide water tanker services to the affected areas without delay, as the discarded pipelines have caused a disruption in the water supply.

Local residents have expressed outrage over the incident, demanding strict action against those involved in the unlawful disposal of pipelines. They have called on authorities to ensure that such incidents do not recur and that necessary steps are taken to prevent further harm to the area’s infrastructure. (KNS)
