Kulgam (Devsar), Nov, 28; On Thursday, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah, the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Devsar constituency, inaugurated a three-day training program for Anganwadi workers at the Townhall in Devsar, Kulgam district. The program is being conducted under the ‘Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi’ initiative, aimed at enhancing both nutrition and education for children in the region.
The event was attended by several key officials, including Tehsildar Devsar Raqib Ahmad Ganie, Block Development Officer (BDO) Devsar Arif Ayaz Dar, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) ICDS Devsar Haneefa, Station House Officer (SHO) Devsar Rishi Kumar, Incharge EO Municipality Devsar Abid Afzal, Agriculture Officer Devsar Firdous Rather, and other local officers and officials.
Hundreds of Anganwadi workers participated in the training session, which seeks to equip them with essential skills and knowledge to foster the holistic development of children. The initiative is part of the larger Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) program and is designed to improve both the cognitive development and nutritional health of children in the area.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah emphasized the importance of the ‘Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi’ program in promoting education and nutrition among children in the region. He stated that the training would provide participants with critical tools to ensure the overall well-being and developmental progress of children in their care. “The program focuses on the crucial role of nutrition in enhancing children’s cognitive abilities, enabling them to learn and grow more effectively,” Shah remarked.
The program is a multi-faceted initiative that aligns with the government’s efforts to improve early childhood education and nutrition, helping children reach their full potential.
