Kulgam, November 29, 2024: A black bear was successfully captured alive in Zungalpora, Kulgam, after being trapped inside a bathroom in Brazloo, Kulgam. The wildlife department quickly responded to the emergency call, with Wildlife Incharge Kulgam, Imtiyaz Ahmad, confirming the safe capture of the bear.

A tranquilizer team, led by Owais Ahmad Khan, sedated the bear to ensure both public safety and the animal’s well-being. The bear was then relocated to a more suitable, natural habitat, far from residential areas.

However, during the brief encounter, a local woman was injured. The extent of her injuries has not been disclosed, but she is receiving medical care.

Authorities have urged residents to stay vigilant and report any sightings of wild animals to prevent such incidents. SHO Devsar, Rishi Kumar, along with his team, was present during the operation to ensure its success and safety.
