Kulgam, December 2, 2024: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today conducted an extensive visit to the District Fish Farm in Chancer to assess the operations and achievements of the facility. The visit aimed at evaluating the performance of the fish farm, which is known for its key role in the local aquaculture sector.
During the visit, DC Khan closely observed the breeding processes of Rainbow Trout, taking a detailed review of the various stages involved in the breeding cycle. He was briefed on the methods and techniques employed to ensure the quality of fish production.
It was highlighted that the facility produces approximately 6 lakh advanced Trout Fish seeds annually, contributing significantly to the region’s fisheries industry. The DC expressed satisfaction with the progress made at the farm and emphasized the importance of further strengthening aquaculture initiatives for enhancing local livelihoods and boosting the economy.
The visit was part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to support and expand the fisheries sector in the district.
