KULGAM: An awareness camp-cum-interaction program was organized by the Social Welfare Department Kulgam, in collaboration with the District Administration Kulgam, to mark the occasion of World Disability Day. The event was held at the Rest House in Chawalgam, Kulgam, with MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
The program aimed at raising awareness about the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and highlighting the importance of inclusivity and equal opportunities. MLA Tarigami emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities, urging for better support systems and awareness in society.
Several district officers were present at the event, contributing to discussions on various initiatives for the empowerment of differently-abled individuals in the region. The camp also included an interactive session where participants shared their experiences and concerns, fostering a better understanding of the issues at hand.
The event underscored the importance of ensuring accessibility, education, and employment opportunities for people with disabilities, and it was a step towards promoting a more inclusive and supportive community in Kulgam.
