The Government of Jammu & Kashmir’s Department of POSHAN, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India, and the Directorate of POSHAN,organized a training program for Anganwadi Workers (AWWS) under the POSHAN Project in Kulgam. The event, titled Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi (PBPB), is part of a larger initiative to enhance the skills of AWWS in improving the nutritional and educational standards for children and mothers in the region.

The training session focused on empowering AWWS with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively implement the Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi project, a crucial constituent of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). This program, aimed at providing holistic development to children, is aligned with the broader objectives of the POSHAN Abhiyaan.

The training session was sponsored by the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Poshan Kulgam and witnessed the participation of various stakeholders. The goal is to ensure that Anganwadi workers are well-equipped to support the nutritional and educational needs of children, contributing to their overall growth and development.

The In charge of PBPB kulgam emphasized the importance of community involvement and capacity building in achieving the targets of the POSHAN Abhiyaan. HE urged the AWWS to actively engage with parents and communities, ensuring the timely and effective delivery of services related to child nutrition, early education, and health.

The program is a vital step towards strengthening the ECCE framework in Kulgam, providing AWWS with a platform to enhance their capabilities in nurturing young children and promoting better health and nutrition practices in the region.

This training initiative highlights the government’s continued commitment to the welfare of children and mothers in Jammu & Kashmir, aligning with national priorities for child development and nutrition.
