Srinagar, Dec, 17: In a press statement at the JD(U) office in Srinagar, JD(U) Party President G.M. Shaheen criticized the National Conference (NC) for its silence on critical issues affecting Jammu and Kashmir.
Shaheen pointed out that despite holding 42 seats in the Assembly, the NC has failed to address key matters, including the restoration of special status, the return of power projects to create jobs for the unemployed, and the release of political prisoners. He assured the people that the JD(U) would step up to lead the fight for these causes.
“If NC cannot speak up, the JD(U) will take responsibility to fight for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, statehood, and key developmental projects. We will not remain silent,” Shaheen stated, adding that Omar Abdullah should consider stepping down if his party cannot deliver on its promises.
