42 non-local militants including 17 infiltrators killed in J&K

Srinagar, Dec 20 : At least 42 non-local militants including 17 infiltrators were killed this year in Jammu and Kashmir in over 26 gunfights.

The data available with the news agency Kashmir News Trust reveals that these 42 non-local militants were killed in 9 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. These districts include Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Kulgam, Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Doda and Rajouri.

The district Baramulla tops the list in militant casualties where 14 non-local militants have been killed in 9 gunfights that raged in the Sabura Nalla area of Uri Sector, main Uri Sector Chak Tappar Kreeri, Kamalkote Uri and Nowpora and Hadipora and Sagipora and Watergam and Rajpore areas in Sopore.

In different sectors of Kupwara including Keran, Tanghdar, Machil, and Lolab 12 militants were killed.

Four militants were killed in two gunfights in Bajad and Assar forest areas in Doda. Three militants were killed in 2 gunfights in Saida Sukhal village in Hiranagar and Kogmandali village in Kathua. Two militants were killed in Khandara Top of Basantgarh in Udhampur in a solitary gunfight.

One non-local militant was killed each in the Ketsun forest area of Bandipora, Akhnoor Jammu, and Payen Redwani area of Kulgam. In contrast, two militants were killed in a single encounter in the Nowshera Sector of Rajouri. [KNT]
