Kulgam; A black bear, which had posed a potential threat to the local community, was successfully captured alive in Amnoo Kulgam. The operation was led by Imtiyaz, the Wildlife Incharge, alongside a dedicated team of wildlife professionals, including Bashir Ahmad, Showkat Ahmad, Adil Ahmad, and Fayaz Ahmad. The team worked diligently to tranquilize and safely capture the bear, ensuring minimal harm to both the animal and the community.

After the bear was captured, it was carefully released back into its natural habitat, allowing it to continue its life in the wild without posing a further risk to residents.

The swift and coordinated efforts of the wildlife department were widely praised by the local community. Villagers expressed their appreciation for the professionalism and efficiency of the team. They also commended the role of SHO Kulgam, who ensured security during the operation.

“This successful operation demonstrates the importance of maintaining a balance between human settlements and wildlife. We are grateful for the hard work of the wildlife team and the support of the local community,” said a local resident.

The capture and subsequent release of the bear serves as an example of responsible wildlife management, ensuring both the safety of residents and the protection of wildlife. The wildlife department has urged locals to promptly report any similar sightings to avoid potential risks in the future.
