In a successful operation, the Wildlife Department of Kulgam has safely captured a black bear in the Shahoo Sachin area. The bear had been spotted by local residents around 15 days ago, prompting authorities to act after receiving several reports of its presence.
To safely handle the situation, the Wildlife Department installed a cage in the area. After a patient wait, the bear was successfully trapped earlier today. The operation was led by Imtiyaz Ahmad, the Wildlife Incharge of Kulgam, with the assistance of team members Showkat Ahmad and Fayaz Ahmed, who ensured the bear was handled with care throughout the process.
Once captured, the bear was released back into its natural habitat without any harm. Local residents have praised the efforts of the Wildlife Department, commending their swift and professional response in ensuring the safety of both the community and the animal. The department’s timely intervention has been welcomed, highlighting the importance of protecting wildlife and maintaining a harmonious balance with the surrounding environment.
