January 05, 2025: The Kulgam Police have successfully foiled an attempt to hoard and illegally sell kerosene oil in the region. On January 4, 2025, a police team from Police Station Qaimoh, while conducting a naka (checkpoint) at Khudwani Byepass, intercepted a suspicious vehicle.
The vehicle, a load carrier with registration number JK18-7728, was driven by Hilal Ahmad Guru, son of Abdul Rahman Guru, a resident of Kawaki Bazar, Qaimoh. During the routine check, officers discovered 1400 liters of kerosene oil, which was being illegally transported for hoarding and black marketing.
A case has been registered against the accused under FIR No 01/2024, under sections 303 BNS and 3/7 of the Essential Commodities (EC) Act at Police Station Qaimoh. The recovered kerosene oil and the vehicle used in the crime have been seized, and the accused has been arrested.
Further investigations into the matter are underway. The police have vowed to continue their efforts to curb illegal practices in the district.
