Verinag, Jan 8: A Musk deer was rescued in an injured condition from the Verinag garden area by the Wildlife Department Doru on Wednesday.
The injured deer was spotted by locals in distress, prompting them to alert the authorities. A team from the Wildlife Department Doru quickly responded and reached the location to rescue the animal. Upon inspection, it was found to have sustained injuries, though the cause of the injuries is still under investigation.
The Musk deer, an endangered species, was immediately transported to a wildlife rehabilitation center where it will receive treatment and care. The department has assured that all necessary efforts will be made to ensure the deer’s full recovery.
Wildlife officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any such incidents, emphasizing the importance of protecting and conserving endangered species in the region.
