The first session was presided over by the President, Shehjaar-i-Adab Lolab, Rashid Manzoor. The esteemed local literary figure, Muhammad Ashraf Parrey, Retired Girdawar, attended as the guest of honor. Renowned short story writer, Maqbool Nadeem, delivered the opening remarks. He emphasized that Shahjar is a non-political platform dedicated to providing pure literary services. In his tribute to the late Abdul Rashid Shaheen, he reflected on the significant contributions Shaheen made to the literary world and his ongoing efforts to honor those associated with his literary journey.

Following the opening remarks, two insightful papers were presented, “Shaheen’s Biography” by Bashir Shahid, and “Shaheen’s Critical Review of the Naat Poet” by Ashraf Adil Lolabi. President Rashid Manzoor thoughtfully reviewed the papers in his presidential address, offering further depth to the discussion.

The second session, immediately following the first, was chaired by Jamshed Nazir, Principal of SSM Educational Institute, Rednag Lolab. This session featured a heartfelt poetry recital, in which atleast a dozen of poets paid tribute to the late Abdul Rashid Shaheen through their verses.

At the conclusion of the recital, guest participants, including Shah Faisal, Muhammad Ashraf Parrey, and Syed Muhammad Ashraf (Medicate), expressed their appreciation for Shahjar’s efforts. They praised the organization for hosting such a meaningful gathering and commended the current leadership for its vision and dedication to the literary cause.

Jamsheed Nazir commended Shehjaar-i-Adab Lolab’s significant literary contributions and encouraged the youth to engage with organizations like Shahjar, rather than being sidetracked by social distractions. He declared “Shaheen Day” a memorable occasion, ensuring its place in the hearts of all those who attended.

The event was meticulously directed by General Secretary Ashraf Adil Lolabi. The poets who contributed to the poetry recital included Rashid Manzoor, Maqbool Nadeem, Bashir Shahid, Manzoor Mohsin, Maqbool Lolabi, Syed Wasil, Naeema Siraj, Shaheen Ayesha, and Ashraf Adil.
