Baramulla: 03/feb/2025: In a grave incident that has sparked widespread outrage, two employees posted at the Sub Center Chinad Sangrama, falling under the jurisdiction of Medical Block Kreeri, were found absent from their duties, raising serious concerns about the management and accountability of healthcare facilities in the region.

One of the employees involved was discovered to be in Delhi without any prior permission or leave, highlighting a flagrant disregard for established protocols and responsibilities. The absence of these employees not only disrupted essential healthcare services but also placed patients at risk, as the center remained understaffed during crucial hours.
The situation took an even more alarming turn when it was revealed that two volunteer students, who did not possess the required authority or training, were handed over control of the sub-center in the absence of the regular staff. These volunteers, who were not qualified to manage medical procedures or attend to patients, were left with the critical task of overseeing the sub-center’s operations, further exacerbating the already concerning situation.
The failure of the employees to report to duty and the subsequent decision to entrust untrained volunteers with such an important healthcare facility has led to public outcry. Locals, who rely on the sub-center for essential medical services, are demanding immediate action. People have expressed their anger and frustration, calling for the suspension of the employees involved in this serious lapse of duty. They argue that the negligence demonstrated by the staff has put the lives of patients in jeopardy and that such irresponsibility cannot be tolerated in the healthcare sector.
The Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Kreeri has reportedly sought an explanation from the employees for their absence and the apparent dereliction of duty. However, the local community feels that mere explanations are not enough in the face of such negligence. Many are calling for a full investigation into the matter and the imposition of strict disciplinary measures against those responsible.
The incident underscores a growing concern over the lack of proper oversight in local healthcare facilities and the potential consequences of neglecting public health responsibilities. Citizens are demanding that steps be taken to ensure that such lapses do not occur again and that healthcare facilities remain adequately staffed at all times, especially in remote areas where medical assistance is critical.
As the investigation continues, the public waits for swift action to be taken against those responsible, hoping that this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and professionalism in the healthcare sector.
