Shopian, Feb 09: In a beautiful display of community spirit and compassion, We The Kashmir Foundation, in collaboration with Smile Foundation Srinagar, organized a Free Medical Camp and Health Check-up Camp in the remote area of Gund Darvesh, located in the Shopian district. This initiative aimed to bring essential healthcare services to those who often face challenges accessing medical facilities.
The camp was set up to provide free consultations, health screenings, and medications to the local community, ensuring that everyone had the opportunity to receive the care they need. The event saw an overwhelming turnout, with families from far and wide gathering to take advantage of the services offered.
Sajjad Ahmad Sholla, President Smile foundation NGO shared, “It’s heartwarming to see the community come together for their health. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, irrespective of their location.”
Doctor speaking with media said “Every person we examined today has a story, and it’s our privilege to be able to listen to them and help in any way we can. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.”
The camp featured various health services, including general check-ups, health consultations. Each patient left not only with medical attention but also with a sense of hope and community support.
One local resident expressed gratitude, saying, “I never thought I would have access to such services right here in my village. This camp has truly made a difference in our lives.”
As the day wrapped up, the smiles and laughter shared among families, volunteers, and healthcare professionals truly highlighted the essence of this initiative.
