Budgam, Feb 17: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Central Kashmir, Rajiv Omprakash Pande (IPS), chaired a high-level security review meeting in Budgam to assess the prevailing security situation and devise counter-militant strategies for the district.
The meeting, attended by SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar (IPS), senior officers, SDPOs, and SHOs, focused on recent security developments and emerging threats. DIG Pande stressed the need for continuous evaluation of security plans to maintain law and order, urging officers to adopt proactive counter-insurgency strategies and modern investigative techniques.
SSP Budgam briefed the gathering on current security measures, including anti-militancy operations, crime prevention, and the crackdown on drug-related offenses. The DIG emphasized strengthening security around vulnerable areas and closely monitoring social media to curb misinformation.
Directing officers to enforce new criminal laws strictly, DIG Pande called for a tough stance against militant networks and narcotics smuggling. He also advocated stronger police-public relations through community outreach programs.
