Kulgam, February 18 – In an inspiring move to protect the environment, renowned social worker Mohammad Hussan Bhat, in collaboration with the Municipal Council of Kulgam, launched the “Go Green Nation, Waste-Free India” initiative today. This initiative aims to clean up local waterbodies and raise awareness about the urgent need to protect these crucial natural resources from pollution.

The campaign kicked off with an energetic cleanup drive, where volunteers and municipal authorities joined forces to remove waste from the region’s waterbodies. Along with the cleanup, the event also aimed to educate the community on the harmful effects of pollution on aquatic ecosystems and the critical importance of preserving them.

Mohammad Hussan Bhat, speaking at the event, emphasized the significance of collective action for environmental conservation. “Our waterbodies are vital to our ecosystem. It is essential that we unite to prevent further pollution. This initiative is just the start of a larger movement to ensure a cleaner and greener future for our nation,” he stated.

Syed Idrees Ahmad, the Sanitation Nodal Officer of the Municipal Council of Kulgam, expressed the local government’s unwavering support for such environmentally focused efforts. “Through community involvement and promoting sustainable practices, we aim to protect the health of our waterbodies and ensure a waste-free environment for all,” he said.

The residents of Kulgam are encouraged to actively take part in the ongoing cleanup efforts and spread the message of environmental responsibility. The “Go Green Nation, Waste-Free India” initiative calls on people across the region to work together for a cleaner, greener future for Kulgam and the country as a whole.
