Kulgam, March 8: In a significant step to enhance healthcare services in remote areas, the Health Department of Kulgam launched a special initiative in the D.H. Pora region on the occasion of International Women’s Day. As part of this effort, Dr. Mahapara, a gynecologist, has been deputed to provide specialized medical support, ensuring better healthcare services for women in the area.
Following the directions of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kulgam, Dr.Shaukat Hussain Parray, an additional gynecologist was assigned to conduct free medical check-ups for women. This initiative aims to address healthcare challenges faced by women and children, with a focus on improving medical support and resources in the region.
The move has been warmly welcomed by the residents of D.H. Pora, who expressed hope that it will bring lasting improvements in healthcare services. The Health Department reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening rural healthcare infrastructure and ensuring accessible medical facilities for all.
Speaking about the initiative, CMO Kulgam stated, “This is a very good initiative for the womenfolk. We are providing free medicines, ultrasound services, and all other tests related to women’s health. Such efforts are crucial in ensuring better healthcare for women, especially in remote areas.”
Officials emphasized that this initiative aligns with a broader vision to improve healthcare in far-flung regions, particularly in recognition of International Women’s Day, underlining the importance of women’s health and well-being.
Expressing their gratitude, local women thanked CMO Kulgam, stating that they felt valued and empowered by this special healthcare initiative on International Women’s Day.
