Budgam, March 13: The Department of Horticulture, Budgam, under The Banner of Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), organized a district-level Awareness cum Training Program at Town Hall, Beerwah. The initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of farmers and horticulturists by promoting sustainable horticulture practices, improving productivity, and increasing farmers’ income through modern techniques and government support.

The event was graced by Chief Horticulture Officer Budgam, Shafeeqa Khalid, along with other senior officers from the department. A large number of farmers and scientists Exparts participated in the program, engaging in discussions on innovative farming techniques, advanced horticultural practices, and the latest government schemes designed to support the agricultural community.

Addressing the gathering, Shafeeqa Khalid emphasized the importance of adopting modern horticultural methods to boost productivity and ensure sustainability. She encouraged farmers to utilize government-sponsored initiatives and technological advancements to maximize their yield and income. Experts present at the event also provided practical demonstrations and training on various scientific approaches to horticulture.

Farmers expressed their gratitude for the program, stating that such initiatives play a crucial role in bridging the gap between traditional and modern farming practices. The event concluded with an interactive session where participants shared their experiences and sought guidance from experts.

The Department of Horticulture, Budgam, reaffirmed its commitment to empowering farmers with knowledge and resources to ensure a prosperous agricultural future for the region.
