Budgam, Mar 14 : As part of the School Education Department’s ongoing enrollment drive, a large rally was organized in Drang Khag today to encourage admissions in government schools. The event, spearheaded by Higher Secondary School (HSS) Drang, witnessed enthusiastic participation from school heads, faculty members, students from various institutions, and a large number of parents.
During the rally, speakers highlighted the achievements and advantages of government schools, emphasizing the quality education they offer. Special focus was placed on the New Education Policy (NEP-2020), described as a transformative initiative aimed at providing flexibility and catering to students’ individual aspirations and capabilities.
The Principal of HSS Drang reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening public education through infrastructural development, faculty enhancement, and student welfare initiatives. He stressed that government schools offer free education, along with free textbooks, uniforms, mid-day meals, and scholarships—key factors supporting students from underprivileged backgrounds and enabling them to compete at higher levels.
The rally moved through the main thoroughfare of Drang and culminated at Jamia Masjid Drang, where the principal delivered a motivational address, expressing gratitude to the school heads and staff for their contributions. The overwhelming response to the initiative led to a surge in on-spot admissions, including several students transferring from private schools—an indication of the growing trust in government institutions.
