Kulgam, March 15: In a remarkable display of dedication, the 108 Ambulance Service of the Health Department in Kulgam braved heavy snowfall to rescue a 21-year-old pregnant woman from the remote village of Raiwatan Wathoo, Aharbal.
The woman, Shakeela Akther, experienced severe health complications, prompting her family to call the 108 emergency helpline. Despite the challenging weather conditions and snow-covered roads, the ambulance stationed at PHC Nehama swiftly responded to the distress call.
With great difficulty, the medical team navigated through the treacherous terrain and successfully transported Shakeela to Sub-District Hospital DH Pora, where she received urgent medical attention.
The villagers of Aharbal praised the swift action and dedication of the ambulance staff, acknowledging their commitment to saving lives even in extreme conditions. The patient’s family also expressed their deep gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kulgam for ensuring the availability of such a crucial emergency service in the district.
