Kulgam, March 17: The Department of Floriculture Kulgam organized a Chinar plantation drive today to promote environmental conservation and green cover in the region. The event, held in Kulgam, was graced by Tehsildar Kulgam, Bilal Ahmad, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
During the drive, Tehsildar Bilal Ahmad planted several Chinar trees and urged local residents to actively participate in such environmental initiatives. He emphasized the importance of preserving trees for the ecological well-being of the district and called for responsible tree management. “We should not cut trees unnecessarily. Instead, we must work together to conserve and expand our green spaces for future generations,” Bilal Ahmad said while addressing the gathering.
The plantation drive aims to enhance the district’s green cover and raise awareness about the significance of trees in maintaining a healthy environment.
