Kulgam, March 19: The sale of hybrid vegetable seedlings began today at the High-Tech Polyhouse in Kilam, Kulgam, marking a significant step towards modernizing agriculture in the region. The event was inaugurated by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Kulgam, Viqar Ahmed Giri, in the presence of key officials from the Agriculture Department.
Among the dignitaries who attended the ceremony were Chief Agriculture Officer, Ravinder Kumar Tripathi, District Agriculture Officer, Riyaz Ahmad Malik, and other prominent officials from the department.
During the inaugural event, ADC Kulgam distributed free hybrid vegetable seedlings to local farmers, emphasizing the government’s strong commitment to promoting modern agricultural practices and boosting productivity in the region.
Speaking at the occasion, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri underscored the importance of high-tech seedling production in enhancing vegetable cultivation and ensuring better yields for local farmers. He further highlighted that the initiative was designed to provide quality seedlings to farmers, which will, in turn, contribute to improved agricultural output across the district.
Local farmers, who expressed their gratitude for the initiative, stated that the availability of high-quality hybrid seedlings would significantly help them improve their crop yields and enhance their income. They welcomed the government’s efforts to introduce modern agricultural techniques, which they believe will contribute to the overall development of the farming community in Kulgam.
