Baramulla, Mar 23: In a bid to ensure smooth vehicular movement and address parking constraints, the Gulmarg Development Authority has issued a fresh advisory restricting the movement of heavy vehicles on the Tangmarg-Gulmarg route.
As per the advisory, all heavy vehicles, including tempo travelers, buses, and public service vehicles with a seating capacity of more than ten passengers, will not be allowed to ply from Tangmarg to Gulmarg until further orders. Instead, such vehicles will have to park at designated parking slots in Tangmarg.
The decision has been taken in view of limited parking facilities in Gulmarg and to facilitate hassle-free traffic movement, especially during the ongoing tourist season. Authorities have urged all stakeholders to cooperate in implementing the advisory.
Officials stated that the measure aims to enhance safety and convenience for visitors and locals commuting to the popular tourist destination. Further traffic regulations, if any, will be communicated in due course. [KNT]
