Kulgam, April 17: In a strong move to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, the Municipal Council Kulgam on Thursday organized a rally under the theme “No to Drugs, Yes to Life”. The rally was flagged off by the Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Kulgam, Zahid Sajad, and was attended by officials from Kulgam Police and the Traffic Police Department.

The rally, which began from Town Hall Kulgam and culminated at the Mini Secretariat Kulgam, witnessed enthusiastic participation from school children and members of the local community.

Students from various educational institutions actively took part in the event, holding placards and raising slogans to promote a drug-free society. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of living a healthy, addiction-free life as part of the broader Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, CEO Zahid Sajad appreciated the active involvement of the youth and highlighted the importance of community-driven efforts in tackling the growing menace of drug abuse. Other municipal officials echoed similar sentiments, urging citizens to work collectively toward a healthier society.

The rally concluded at the Mini Secretariat with an awareness session where key speakers reaffirmed their commitment to building a drug-free Kulgam through continued public engagement and education.
