Kulgam, May 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers’ Forum (JKTF), Kulgam chapter, held a significant assembly today in D.H. Pora to conduct the election for the Zonal President. The event marked a pivotal moment in the Forum’s ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots leadership within the teaching community.

Senior JKTF leadership, including Mr. Mohd Ashraf Lone (Chief Coordinator), Mr. Javaid Ahmad Mir (Provincial Secretary), and Mr. Sartaj Ali Bhat (District President), presided over the proceedings. The election was conducted under the experienced supervision of Mr. Showkat Ali Beig, whose leadership continues to guide the Forum’s mission of educational advancement and teacher empowerment.

The event witnessed active participation from educators, academicians, and local thought leaders, all contributing to vibrant discussions on uplifting the teaching profession and fostering academic excellence.

In a show of unity and consensus, Mr. Safeer Ahmad Hajam was unanimously elected as the Zonal President for JKTF Zone D.H. Pora. Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat was also elected unopposed as Vice President of the zone. Their appointments were warmly endorsed by the teaching fraternity present at the assembly.

The leadership reiterated that JKTF’s strength lies in its unity and collective voice. They affirmed their continued dedication to advocating for educators’ rights and ensuring active teacher participation in educational policy-making processes.

The assembly concluded on a hopeful note, with a shared commitment to sustained collaboration and progress in the education sector.
