Budgam, May 5: A special traffic enforcement drive was conducted today at Kanihama, Magam, along the Srinagar–Gulmarg Highway under the supervision of SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh, and DySP Traffic Mujahid Nazir, along with other officials from the Traffic Department.
The operation targeted a range of traffic violations. Several motorists were challaned for offenses, and some vehicles were seized on the spot. SSP Ravinder Pal Singh personally inspected driving licenses and vehicle documents, with fines imposed on violators in accordance with existing traffic laws.
Speaking to the media, SSP Singh stressed the importance of public cooperation in maintaining road safety. He urged commuters to strictly follow traffic rules to avoid penalties and ensure smooth, safe travel on highways.
He further highlighted the department’s ongoing awareness campaigns in schools and colleges, aimed at educating young people on responsible driving and traffic discipline.
Authorities confirmed that such enforcement drives will continue across the region to promote a culture of lawful and safe driving.
