Baramulla 14, 2025: In a continued push for comprehensive development and public welfare, Shri Farooq Ahmad Shah (IAS Retd.), Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Gulmarg, conducted a series of visits across the constituency, focusing on infrastructure, education, heritage, agriculture, and community support.

At Utikoo, Tehsil Kwarhama, he laid the foundation stone for the renovation and reconstruction of the shrine of Hazrat Syed Mohammad Moosa (RA). The project, overseen by the Department of Archives, Archaeology & Museums, carries a total cost of Rs. 55.47 lakhs, with Rs. 38.82 lakhs allotted for initial work. The Roads and Buildings (R&B) Division Tangmarg has been tasked with execution. Mr. Shah emphasized the shrine’s spiritual and cultural importance, stating that its restoration would help preserve the region’s heritage for generations to come.

To bolster the education sector, Shri Shah also laid the foundation stone for an Additional Classroom (ACR) at PM SHRI Government Boys Middle School, Utikoo, aimed at reducing overcrowding and improving the overall learning environment for students.

Later, he visited Wussan Bangil to inspect the proposed site for an Eklavya Model Residential School and an Indoor Sports Stadium. These forthcoming facilities are expected to enhance educational opportunities and promote sports among local youth, contributing to both academic and athletic development.

In support of rural livelihoods, Shri Shah inspected dairy farms in Mangloora and Ogmuna, where he engaged directly with farmers and workers. He underscored the importance of upgrading these farms through better infrastructure, training programs, and access to support services. Reaffirming his vision, he expressed his aim to make Gulmarg a model hub for dairy production, ensuring food security and sustainable income for farming communities.

The day concluded with a visit to Darul Uloom Ganiwani, Block Chandil, where Mr. Shah reviewed structural damage to the Darasgah building. He assured the management of necessary support, stressing the importance of safeguarding institutions that provide both religious and academic education.

Speaking to the media, Shri Farooq Ahmad Shah reiterated his unwavering commitment to inclusive and sustainable development across the Gulmarg constituency, ensuring that every sector and community benefits from the progress.
