Srinagar, May 16: SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh, along with DYSP Traffic Mujahid Nazir, conducted a road safety awareness and helmet distribution campaign today at Narbal Chowk.
As part of the initiative to promote traffic safety, the officers engaged with two-wheeler riders, emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets and adhering to traffic rules. Helmets were distributed on the spot to encourage responsible driving behavior among commuters.
The campaign aimed to curb traffic violations and raise awareness about the risks associated with riding without safety gear.
SSP Singh underlined the crucial role drivers play in ensuring passenger safety, especially on roads with steep gradients, sharp bends, and blind turns. He urged drivers to remain patient, responsible, and professional, particularly while navigating hilly terrain. Addressing infrastructure issues such as the absence of crash barriers and parapets on certain routes, he assured that all genuine concerns raised by drivers would be addressed on a priority basis.
He further stated that district-wide efforts would continue for the strict enforcement of transport regulations to ensure road safety and secure travel for the public.
