The move aims to improve road connectivity and ease traffic congestion along this critical stretch of the highway. According to officials, the affected families were compensated prior to the operation, ensuring a smooth and transparent process.

The demolition drive was conducted under the supervision of Naib Tehsildar Kulgam, Nasir Ahmad Mantoo, who oversaw the proceedings to ensure adherence to legal and procedural norms.

Local residents expressed their support for the initiative, acknowledging its long-term benefits. “This step was long overdue and will benefit commuters and the overall development of the region,” said one local resident.

The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing developmental projects with fairness and accountability, emphasizing that such initiatives are essential for the region’s growth and prosperity.
